photographer christoph bangert went to iraq in the spring of 2005. whiel most journalist were begging to
leave the country after a peak in violence, bangert was sent on assignment by the new york times.
he remained in the country during 2006 and some of 2007 after which he published a book of his photos,
'iraq: the space between'. born in germany, bangert now lives in new york.
