121108atlasoda01.jpgRecycline is a conceptual line of ten wonderful ideas concocted by Ryter Design, reusing the common polyethylene terephthalate bottle as the basis of all their designs. We guess if you're going to drink beverages in plastic bottles, you might as well reuse them for other purposes and the images above and below reveal inspirational potential for crafty minded folks. Check out the rest below... 121108atlasoda00.jpg

Bend the Beats to Stop the Flow of the Beats [feedly]

Bend the Beats to Stop the Flow of the Beats

The best (and worst) thing about a garden hose is that kink that stops the flow. I love that kink. And so does the crew that's whipped up the "Music Flow." MP3s that spew forth from a faucet with matching earbuds and controls. Flow on!

Music flows from the line, As water flows from the hose.
The supply of water stops whether the hose are pressed. If pressure is applied by hand to the earphone line as capacitance technology, the music temporarily stops. And when you relinquish your hold of the earphone line, the music starts again. The product looks like faucet, hose and volume control invested with a new and fun interface function relieves [the] soullessness of the digital product.

The Tap holds the tracks and acts as a speaker when the earphones are in their cradle. The Remote Control "looks like waves" and is separate from the tap and the knob. The Knob, like the Tap, sticks to whatever you like, like a window for example, and controls the volume.

Turn on the water, Turn on the Sound.

Not water-resistant!

Breathing Plants Demand Attention [feedly]

Breathing Plants Demand Attention

It's easy to forget plants are complex living organisms because their movements are so sedentary. It's only when things start wilting do we suddenly realize "damn this plant needs help!" The breathing pot helps us find an analogous emotive connection with our plants. The pot expands and contracts simulating breathing. If the breathing stops, you better give that plant some water and place it in sunlight.

Bulb is in the Heart .. of d:light [feedly]

Bulb is in the Heart .. of d:light

Did you know you're not supposed to put your light-bulbs in the trash? Don't pitch 'em! Put them in the "d:light."

Designer Tim Edgeler presents. A new solution (maybe) to the light-bulb problem with his product, the "d:light." It acts as both a lamp and a method for mailing the dead bulb to the correct disposal place. And of course, it's constructed of real super "green" materials.

The d:light is not only a product, but a related infrastructure which has been designed in conjunction with the product. The final design was created by utilizing precise design techniques [and] eco-materials. With [these elements] is an inherently "green" product, [that] retains full practicality and functionality, adopting a subtle, fundamental beauty.

The d:light fulfills 3 main product functions by acting as light bulb packaging, a light-shade for when the bulb is in use, and the vehicle for return when the bulb has reached the end of its functional life. The d:light not only acts as a practical product but also helps socially aware consumers reduce their waste footprint.

For that non-LED-using portion of the population, of course.

Any fair assessment on this project would have to dismiss the fact that there are better and more efficient ways to light a room than light bulbs, correct?

Or is there a reason why this protector of the light-bulb age should be mass produced the save the world?
